Head Coach Dave Wannstedt and his staff are preparing to host a number of outstanding recruits. It appears one of the top cornerbacks in the nation has recently decided to visit. Read on.

Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School in Hollywood, FL has a myriad of outstanding college prospects this season. One of them, running back Xavier Stinson (5-foot-9 inches, 215 pounds), has already committed to the University of Pittsburgh. Head Coach Dave Wannstedt and his coaching staff were preparing for an official visit from Stinson and his hard hitting teammate Eain Smith (6-foot-1 inches, 180 pounds) this weekend when the Panthers lock horns with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. It appears another Lion has opted to visit and his decision came as a bit of a surprise.

"Xavier (Stinson) and myself have played together since we have little kids. He committed to Pittsburgh and I thought I would give it a strong look," stated outstanding cornerback prospect Akeem Auguste (5-foot-11 inches, 175 pounds). "I'm going to visit this weekend with Xavier and Eain. I want to see what Pittsburgh is all about. Their game against Rutgers should be pretty good." ranks Auguste the 26th best cornerback in the nation. He's also considered a "four-star" recruit.

Auguste has been heavily involved with Florida State, Florida, Auburn and South Carolina. He has accumulated over 20 scholarship offers. When asked if the Panthers were strongly being considered, he quickly stated, "I'm wide open right now. I'm simply looking for the best fit. If I like what I see at Pittsburgh, they could easily become one of my favorite teams. It doesn't hurt that Xavier is going there."

Auguste, known as a shut down cornerback, led the Lions to a state championship in 2005. He registered 25 tackles 7 interceptions as a junior. Two of his interceptions were returned from touchdowns. He is capable of running a 4.4 forty-yard dash. Akeem has been a starting cornerback for three years. He plays sparingly at wide receiver as well.

"I'm a total lock down cornerback. I'm fast and physical. I can shut down a receiver and give you fun support when you need it. I like to think I'm a complete corner."

"Xavier has had great things to say about Pitt. I can't wait to get up there and meet the players and coaches."

Recruiting Note: Running back Greg Williams (6-foot-2 inches, 200 pounds) from Barron Collier High School in Naples, FL was originally set to visit this weekend. Williams contacted the to inform us he has changed his visit to December. The official date has yet to be set.
