Roberts is a Panther

Eastern Pennsylvania recruiting was basically non-existent at the University of Pittsburgh during the Walt Harris era. Dave Wannstedt has made it a priority and the Panthers have continued to add more players from the region in each of Wannstedt's first two seasons at Pitt. Today, one more was added.

Pennridge (Pa.) linebacker Tristan Roberts had an idea that he may commit this weekend while on his official visit to the University of Pittsburgh.

"I figured I would do it while I was there and I did about a half an hour ago," Roberts said. "I met with the defensive coach (Paul Rhoades) and I told him and then I met with Dave Wannstedt and I told him that I wanted to come there."

Roberts was paired up with another Eastern Pennsylvania product in freshman Tyler Tkach.

"He was great and all the players were great reall," Roberts explained. "All the players were really friendly it wasn't like they treated you any different because you were the new guy or a young guy they all acted like a team and that sold me."

Roberts, who is a solid student was impressed with what the Panthers offered academically.

"We went to the academic center and I really like the way they had everything laid out and organized."

Roberts also noted that he is going to be coming into Pitt as a (WILL) linebacker.
