Citko Sees Pitt Rising

Adam Citko camped at Pitt this summer, so he is stranger to the campus or facilities, however this weekend he made the trip from Warminster, Pa., to attend junior day and get to know the coaching staff and program a little better. As it turns out he learned a lot on his visit and definitely grew more interested in the Panthers as the weekend went along.

Archbishop Wood offensive tackle Adam Citko took his third trip to Pittsburgh this weekend and came away very impressed with what the Panther program had to offer him. The 6-foot-5, 301-pounder talked with us about his visit on Sunday during his trip back to the Philadelphia area.

"The visit went really, really well," Citko stated. "We had breakfast today and I got to meet their new offensive line coach who was a really cool guy. My mother also got to meet my recruiter Coach Brian Angelichio and speak with him for a while which was nice. After that we went into the meeting room and Coach Dave Wannstedt gave a speech on academics and how everything fit together as a student-athlete there."

"After that we were all split up by positions and then took a tour of the facilities which were really nice," Citko added. "They share them with the Pittsburgh Steelers, so it's basically just like having NFL facilities obviously. Then we shot over to watch the basketball game against Louisville and they lost a close one, but the crowd was absolutely crazy."

We asked Citko if he talked to the staff about an offer.

"Coach Angelichio said to give him a call later this week to find out where I stand with them right now," Citko explained. "I just liked the atmosphere a lot, thought the coaches were great and am building a really good relationship with Coach Angel. I felt very comfortable there and got to meet some good people like Cameron Saddler, Lucas Nix and Shayne Hale. Those types of recruits are why I see the program being on that is definitely on the rise."
