Pitt Prospects Camp Photos

The annual Pitt football prospects camps are a chance for recruits to make an impact on the Panthers and other area coaches.

Here are photos from the first of three one-day Pittsburgh camps:

Sto-Rox WR Andrew Carswell takes it easy between drills.

Laying the Groundwork: Pitt RBs coach David Walker has a good talk with 2012 bruiser Rushell Schell from Hopewell, Pa. High School.

Pitt WR Cedric McGee was among a handful of Panthers players who assisted the coaching staff with the campers.

McGee knocks a receiver off-stride in a jam drill.

Aliquippa coach Sherman McBride waits for the WRs to line up for a route-running session.

Former Pitt safety Eric Thatcher, in his role as the St. Vincent College DBs coach, assists in camp drills and evaluates the recruits.

Pitt OL coach Tony Wise is a hands-on teacher with the recruits, as well as the Panthers, and usually is in the middle of the action.

Wise leads the "Sumo'' drills, a one-on-one competition between the offensive and defensive linemen.

Pitt WR coach Bryan Bossard jams a wideout, but he still keeps his feet and continues the route.

Former Ambridge, Pa. HS QB and Pitt walk-on DB Shawn Besong, now the Panthers' assistant video coordinator, worked with the O-line.

Defensive linemen hit the sled.

Nick Appel from Bishop Denis J. O'Connell HS in Arlington, Va. was among the largest OL in attendance.

The WRs and DBs battle in a one-on-one drill.

Pitt will continue to hold camps this week, but today through Tuesday are overnight events. The kicking camp is Thursday, and the one-day prospects camps are Friday and Saturday.
