Pitt's New Star Rankings

Pitt's 17 verbal commitments have been re-classified by Scout.com's recruiting analysts, and the Panthers 2010 class has improved immensely.

Defensive end T.J. Clemmings from Paterson, N.J. Catholic High Schools has moved up to a five-star rating and is the sixth-best at his position in the nation.

Pittsburgh also has one four-star player, wideout Andrew Carswell from Sto-Rox HS in McKees Rocks, Pa., 34th in the nation.

The rest are all three-star recruits, except for Derrick Burns from Wilmington HS in New Wilmington, Pa. He is being re-evaluated as a safety, not a middle linebacker, and likely will move up to three stars afterward.

The remaining commitments are from tight end Dan Schneider (17th nationally), Avon Lake, Ohio HS; running back Andre Givens (38th), Hubbard, Ohio HS; offensive guard Arthur Doakes (26th), Lebanon, Pa. HS; tight end Brandan Carozzoni (35th), St. Ignatius HS in Cleveland, Ohio; defensive tackle K.K. Smith (58th) from Woodland Hills HS in Pittsburgh; offensive guard Matt Rotheram (18th), North Olmstead, Ohio HS; running back T.J. Peeler (44th), Broad Run HS in Ashburn, Va.; offensive guard Brandon Sacco (49th), Don Bosco Prep School in Ramsey, N.J.; defensive end Bryan Murphy, Don Bosco Prep; wideout Kevin Weatherspoon (79th), Clairton, Pa. HS; cornerback K'Wuan Williams (85th), St. Joseph Regional HS in Montvale, N.J.; wideout Salath Williams (73rd), Bishop McDevitt HS in Harrisburg, Pa.; safety Jeff Knox (51st), Dematha Catholic HS in Hyattsville, Md.; and defensive tackle Aaron Donald (28th), Penn Hills HS in Pittsburgh.

Donald dropped from a four-star rating to three, but he was the only one.
