Wright Checks Out Pitt

In addition to having a few offered prospects competing at its 7-on-7 passing camp over the weekend, Pitt entertained a few unofficial visitors who stopped by to check things out. One of them was Paramus (NJ) Paramus Catholic defensive tackle Marquise Wright.

Wright got in to Pittsburgh late Saturday night, then got up Sunday and took the tour of Pitt's campus, the facilities, and watched a little of the Pitt passing camp. He was back in Paramus Sunday night.

"I was at Pitt this weekend, yes, it was great," Wright said. "I loved it. I got to see everything, from the Cathedral of Learning, to the (practice) field, to the facilities. Everywhere I went, it was amazing."

On the campus tour, Wright said the Cathedral of Learning was his favorite spot. Though it was his first trip to the Pittsburgh area, he got a good feel for the area, as a whole. He couldn't say enough good things about the coaching staff, as well.

"Coach Wannstedt," Wright said, then paused. "Coach Wannstedt was great. It was great I got to talk with him. Every person I spoke to was a good call."

Reflecting on the visit as a whole, on a scale of one to ten, Wright said Pitt exceeded his expectations.

"I'd give it a 15," Wright said. "They're up there. I loved everything about it. It was a good time. I liked everything I saw."

Wright said he doesn't know if he'll take any more unofficial visits this summer. He would like to get back to Pitt, but at the same time, feels he has seen everything he needs to see of Pitt.

"I'll definitely go back," Wright said, when asked if he would get back to Pitt again. "I might not have to. I don't know. We'll see."

Immediately after the visit, though, a pair of other New Jersey players who have already committed to Pitt, were in contact with Wright.

"I know some of the other commits, I speak to them," Wright added. "Quinton Alston, I talked to Quinton. (Don Bosco Prep quarterback Gary) Nova, I talk to him. I talked to them a little while ago. There was another previous recruit, Lafayette Pitts, I talked to him a little bit. I talked to all three of them."

Up next for Wright, it's unknown if he'll take any other unofficial visits this summer. There's also no timetable set for when he would make a decision or narrow down his list of schools.

"Honestly, I don't know," Wright added.
