Davon Daniels may have some interesting options when it comes to his recruitment. The 6-3, 220-pound quarterback is also his team's linebacker. In fact, he's been spending this summer working out on both sides of the ball. He finished with five sacks last season. He will take over the starting quarterback spot this season as a senior for Clearview, while entering his second year as a starter at linebacker.
"I went to Pittsburgh, and it was pretty good," Daniels said. "I'm interested in them. I like their playing style, and how they run everything. Their facility is nice, and they have nice coaches."
Daniels worked out with the quarterbacks at Pittsburgh, where he had a chance to meet Akron quarterback coach Ron Powlus. As a result, Daniels then went to work out at Akron's camp.
"It went pretty good too," Daniels said. "I was with the quarterbacks, then some of the other coaches wanted me to try out the linebacker spot, since that's my position (on defense)."
Does Daniels have a preference?
"No, not really, but it might be quarterback," Daniels said. "If they need help on defense, I'll go there. I wasn't the starter (at quarterback) last year, but I started on the defensive side."
He had the same thing at Michigan State.
"The coaches said I did pretty good there, it was great out there," Daniels said. "They had coaches from other schools there, too."
