I mostly agree with Richard, unless something new opens up, or a lot of dominos fall. From everything I've heard, he and his family really like RI. I suspect it will take a special opportunity to get him to leave.
Emmanuel Quickly has PC in his final seven. EQ picking Providence is a whole lot more likely than some of the suggested scenarios here.
Not sure if that necessarily means IQ has a good chance to end up at Providence, maybe just more of a chance then these other outlandish scenarios. Unless you have a feeling Steve that PC has made serious inroads with IQ? His recruitment is tough to gauge...can EC really be trying to make a push at Duke and IQ? Both would be amazing obviously, but one would think they would both want the minutes at that position
EC Matthews is the cancer of URI. Had some good plays but he shoots bad shots and totally deflated momentum. He would destroy PC if he came here. Honestly at the end of the URI game, I would've went with Down, Terrell, Robinson, Iverson, and Langevine. The last possession was disgusting. with 30+ seconds you attack and then foul. give yourself more than one opportunity. If Hurley was smart, he would ask EC to transfer. Too many guards, hell I think I might even take Garret over him
That could not be further from the truth. I am good friends with a team insider and by all accounts he's the nicest, sweetest kid on a team of nice guys minus Iverson. People claim kids care what posters say about them, so if that is true the same goes for posters posting about kids from other teams our players know personally. I have had numerous people who interact with him regularly say the same. Calling this kid a cancer is classless. EC is not going anywhere and neither is Hurley. They advanced we didn't, they came close to a sweet 16. That's a big deal and good for them.
Everything I've heard about him is that he's a good kid. I also agree that, except for Iverson, they all appear to be good kids on that team. I really wanted Providence to get Terrell a few years ago, and still think he would be a perfect Coach Cooley type of player. Iverson was as talented as anyone on the URI roster, but was a constant headache for Hurley. He didn't play poorly against Oregon, but took a couple of ill advised three pointers, and backed off Dorsey as he took the three which won the game.
