Gang.. Since Pitino made the 3 pointer famous in his PC era, the most memorable must be on our way to the Final Four, I just can't jar my memory but I do recall finishing 2nd in a large office pool in '87 ..
Henton's freshman year against a ranked UCONN, fader from in front of the PC bench in the Dunk. Don't quite recall if it was go-ahead, game-tying, or just the dagger to finish off the puppies but that shot was huge.
Also Cotton to beat Nova @Nova with the Iverson crossover-to-pullup from the top of the key at the buzzer was nasty.
.,.this one is easy, list starts and ends with Pop Lewis.
+1 Paved the way for all others.
Loudest I have ever heard the Dunk.
As rocking as the Texas game or any of the UConn or Syracuse games were, they couldn't match the intensity of the Civic Center the night of Pop's game winner against the Hoyas, "The shot that sent the Friars Uptown" (ProJo next day headline). That shot and subsequent Sat. night win over ranked SJU put PC in the top 20 for the first time in over a decade.
Rememorable?Gotta be Pop's, and I don't memberhow many assists Billy had, but that one was amazing. He was so good at the drive and dish, and when set-up like that, those Friars knew how to knock them down! A thing of beauty.
