2016 Spring Targets:

Kalif Young: 6’9” Power Forward/Center, Orangeville Prep (Mono, Ontario).  A 3 star recruit on Rivals, Young has become a hot name this winter and into the spring.  It had been reported Young would visit PC the weekend of April 16-17, but that now has apparently been rescheduled until May.  He also has official visits set to Alabama and Marquette the next 2 weeks.

Andre Washington: 7’0” Center, Wake Forest.  Washington is a graduate transfer, eligible for one year in 2016-17.  He redshirted in 2015-16 for the Demon Deacons.  In his previous 3 seasons, Washington averaged 1.7 ppg and 1.2 rpg, with 57 blocks for his career.  He was recruited by PC assistant Jeff Battle at Wake Forest.  Washington is visiting PC the weekend of April 16-17.

Emmitt Holt: 6’7” Power Forward, Indian Hills Community College.  Holt has 2 years of eligibility, starting in 2016-17, as a Junior College transfer.  He averaged 11.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, and 1.5 bpg this season for Indian Hills.  He played his freshman year at Indiana, and averaged 3.8 ppg and 3.1 rpg.  Holt is visiting PC the weekend of April 16-17.

Marvin Clark, Jr: 6’6” Forward, Michigan State.  Clark is transferring with 2 years of eligibility left, starting in 2017-18.  He visited Providence April 7-9.  Clark averaged 3.9 ppg and 2.6 rpg in about 10 mpg for Michigan State this past season.  He is reportedly visiting St. John’s the weekend of April 16-17.

Alpha Diallo: 6’7” Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Brewster Academy.  Diallo is a 4 star recruit on Rivals and ESPN, 3 star on Scout, and is ranked in or near the top 100 on Rivals and ESPN.  Diallo officially visited Providence April 8-10.  He will reportedly officially visit Oklahoma State the weekend of April 16-17, and then Florida about a week later.  He had officially visited VCU in the fall.

Akil Douglas: 6’10” Power Forward, San Jose City College.  Douglas has 2 years of eligibility, starting in 2016-17, as a Junior College transfer.   He averaged 18.1 ppg, 8.2 rpg, and 2.1 bpg this season.  He visited PC in late March.   Douglas reportedly visited Santa Clara after PC, and San Francisco and Portland State also appear to be involved.

Taurean Thompson: 6’10” Power Forward, Brewster Academy.  A 4 star, top 100 recruit on Rivals, ESPN, and Scout, Thompson has been linked with PC, but it’s unclear if, or how much, PC is recruiting him at this point.  He is scheduled to visit UConn April 18-19.  Syracuse has long been considered a favorite, and Kansas and Seton Hall are among the schools also in the mix.

Cheickna Dembele: 6’11” Center, Scotland Performance Institute (PA).  A 3 star recruit on Rivals,  Dembele has garnered a lot of attention the past few months.  PC has been mentioned with him, but there are several other schools that are linked with him, including Syracuse, Iowa State, UConn, St. Joseph’s, Temple, NC State, and Arkansas.

Darius Hicks: 6’7” Power Forward, 22 Feet Academy (SC).  Hicks is a 3 star recruit on Rivals, ESPN, and Scout.  An article on Scout.com in November indicated PC was recruiting him the hardest.  Marquette was also prominently mentioned.  I haven’t seen much recruiting information on Hicks lately, aside from getting an offer from UC Santa Barbara.

Justin Simon: 6’5” Point Guard, Arizona.  A top 50 recruit out of Brewster Academy, Simon is transferring after playing sparingly his freshman year at Arizona, and will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.  PC has been mentioned with him.  He is reportedly visiting St. John’s the weekend of April 16-17.

No Longer Options:

Levi Cook: 6’10” Center, Elev8 Sports Institute.  PC was involved to some extent, but he has now committed to DePaul.

Isaiah Whaley: 6’9” Power Forward, Evelyn Mack Academy.  PC had been mentioned with him in the fall.  Whaley has now reclassified to 2017.

Iran Bennett: 6’9” Center, Hargrave Military Academy.  PC had also been linked to him in the fall.  Bennett has also reclassified to 2017.

Katin Reinhardt: 6’6” Shooting Guard, USC.  He averaged 11.4 ppg and 2.8 rpg for the Trojans this year.  Reinhardt is a graduate transfer, eligible for 1 year in 2016-17.  PC had been among several schools listed as being in the mix for Reinhardt, but he recently announced he will transfer to Marquette.

Kaleb Joseph: 6’3” Point Guard, Syracuse.  Joseph is transferring with 2 years of eligibility remaining, starting in 2017-18.  PC had been very involved in his recruitment out of prep school, but there wasn’t any specific mention of PC as a transfer destination.  He has announced that he is transferring to Creighton.

Cane Broome: 6’0” Guard, Sacred Heart.  The nation’s 8th leading scorer at 23.1 ppg, Broome is transferring with 2 years of eligibility remaining, starting in 2017-18.  Broome visited PC in late March, followed by Cincinnati and Creighton.  He has now announced he will transfer to Cincinnati.
