"I have a scholarship offer from Indiana," said linebacker Derek DiSalvo.
"My favorites are Nebraska, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Stanford and Notre Dame.
"I camped this summer at Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. I was supposed to camp at Notre Dame and Nebraska but I couldn't make those trips."
DiSalvo, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound, linebacker from Indianapolis (Bishop Chatard) had a tremendous 2002 campaign, finishing the season with 146 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and eight sacks. Derek also had three interceptions and he blocked three punts.
DiSalvo is the teammate of All-America candidate Ryan Baker. Neither Baker nor DiSalvo will have to worry about lack of exposure in 2003 as Bishop Chatard travels to Ohio powerhouse Cincinnati (Elder) the fourth week of the season.
