Position:Point Guard Height, Weight: 5-8, 150
High School, Class:Marian Catholic, Class of 2014
Bio: A casual basketball fan may not have known the name Tyler Ulis a year ago, or even just a few months ago. The point guard has skyrocketed to the top of many college recruiting boards, and that's no coincidence. Ulis has taken his game to the next level and coaches have taken notice. He now has more than 10 offers on the table and likely more to come.
Scouting Report: Ulis stands at just 5-foot-8, but uses his frame as an advantage. He's a skillful ball-handler who is quick in transition and very difficult to defend—the greatest strength in his game. He's becoming a more versatile scorer, too, working both inside and out. On the other end of the court, Ulis is a solid defender who is a tough matchup for any point guard.
Quote to note: "It feels good to try to prove to everybody that I can play on any level, no matter the height or size that I am. I'm just coming out and trying to play and not worrying about anything else." –Tyler Ulis, discussing the improvements in his game.
Prediction: All roads seem to lead Tyler Ulis to Michigan State. The point guard has family ties to the university, it has been his "dream school" since the start, and the recent offer only solidified that feeling. Ulis says he's looking for a strong relationship with a head coach, and he certainly has that with Tom Izzo. The two appear to be a match made to last. Should something break the two apart, Northwestern might be the next-best choice for Ulis.
