Patterson pledges to Purdue

Three-star lineman Martesse Patterson gave his pledge to Purdue.

One week after Purdue's big recruiting weekend, another commit joined the class. Three-star lineman Martesse Patterson is the latest Boilermaker pledge, committing one week after an official visit.

Patterson, a 6-foot-5, 320-pound prospect, picked Purdue over offers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee and Toledo.

Patterson can play on either side of the ball. If soft verbal commit Denzel Ward does not end up signing with Purdue, Patterson might be better suited at tackle.

The Boilermakers have now added four verbal commits since last Saturday. Patterson is the 14th member of Darrell Hazell's first full recruiting class at Purdue.

Boiler Sports Report hopes to have quotes from Patterson added to this story.
