Boilers land four-star quarterback

Four-star QB Elijah Sindelar is Purdue's biggest commit of the Hazell era.

Purdue has landed the biggest recruit of the Darrell Hazell era. Four-star quarterback Elijah Sindelar will be a Boilermaker.

Sindelar, a native of Princeton, Kentucky, is rated the 14th-best quarterback of the 2015 class. He picked Purdue over early offers from Kentucky, Mississippi and more.

Coach Gerad Parker led the recruitment of Sindelar, a product of his home state, and was able to bring him to West Lafayette for several visits, most recently this past weekend.

Sindelar is Purdue's first pledge for the 2015 class, giving his commitment less than a week after the 2014 signing date.

When Sindelar arrives on campus in 2015, Purdue will have a choice of four talented quarterbacks: junior Austin Appleby, junior Danny Etling, likely redshirt freshman David Blough and now Sindelar.

Purdue's 'Cradle of Quarterbacks' tradition appears to be in good hands with Hazell, who brought in the Boilermakers' biggest commitment in recent years.
