The Bucs, led by new head coach Lovie Smith, traded up to draft Pamphile.
Pamphile is largely considered a project player, rising up the draft rankings after his senior year at Purdue. He was part of an offensive line which saw great struggles in 2013, a 1-11 year for the program.
The rise of Pamphile began at the NFL Combine, where he showed a mix of strength and quickness. His overall athleticism caught the eyes of NFL scouts.
Purdue has seen a player get drafted for each of the past 17 years.
