Ohio Athlete Interested in Boilers

This Ohio prospect isn't on the radar of many recruiting lists but he should be highly recruited in 2002. Purdue is on his short list.

Ryne Robinson, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound, athlete from Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic was a prospect that was constantly brought up in our conversations with college recruiters during the May Evaluation period.

What Robinson lacks in size he makes up for in speed and athletic ability. Robinson plays both wide receiver and cornerback for Central Catholic but he'll be recruited as an athlete in 2002.

Ryne is a burner and he's been timed in the 40-yard dash in the 4.3 (hand held) to 4.5 (electronic) range. We're waiting on film of Robinson but we've been told that he'll probably end up on the offensive side of the ball at the next level.

"I have scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Ball State, Ohio University, Miami (Ohio) and Eastern Michigan." Robinson said.

"My favorites are Notre Dame, Northwestern, Miami (Ohio), Miami (Fla.) and Purdue."

Robinson had 900 all-purpose yards and 14 touchdowns in nine games in 2001. Ryne also tallied 25 solo tackles from his cornerback position. He carries a 3.0 GPA and he's awaiting his board scores.
