Floyd Turner, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound, defensive end from Melrose Park (Ill.) Walther Lutheran will be a prospect to watch in the Land of Lincoln in 2002.
"I don't have a scholarship offer yet." Turner said. "Michigan State, Purdue, Kentucky, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri are my favorites. I've been to Michigan State this summer on an unofficial visit.
Turner will be a three-year starter in 2002. As a junior he had 60 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. Those numbers were good enough to earn all-area and all-conference honors.
Turner carries a 2.6 GPA and he's awaiting the score from his ACT test.
