Boiler LB Target - Chris Carlino

Chris Carlino, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker from Hamilton Southeastern in Fishers, Indiana, is a prospect that Purdue has on their recruiting board. Carlino is a tough, aggressive, physical linebacker with very good athleticism. We caught up with Chris and asked him to talk about his early recruitment.

"I don't have any offers yet," Chris Carlino told the Boiler Sports Report.

"I'm hearing from Purdue, Indiana, Miami (Ohio), Illinois, Ohio and Stanford on a regular basis.

"My favorites right now are Indiana, Purdue, Miami (Ohio), Wisconsin, Illinois, Northwestern and Ohio University."

Carlino will be a three-year varsity starter in 2007. He led his team in tackles as a sophomore and a 10-1 record. That record was good enough to earn Hamilton Southeastern a state runner-up finish.

As a junior, Carlino had 70 tackles, 33 assisted tackles and 12 tackles for loss. He was named junior all-state.

Carlino attended the Illinois spring game and he plans on making several camp appearances this spring and summer.

"I'm camping at Wisconsin and Indiana for sure," said Carlino. "I'm also planning on attending a combine in early May at Purdue.

Carlino's father attended law school at Indiana, will that give the Hoosiers an advantage in his recruitment?

"Not really," Carlino said. "I grew up a Michigan fan but everyone is equal right now. I'm just listening to everyone and keeping all my options open."
