Illinois CB Gaining Momentum

A prospect flying under the radar in the Land of Lincoln is Vince Beachum. The 6-0, 185-pound cornerback from Addison Trail High in Addison, Illinois, had six interceptions as a junior and ran two of those pics back for a touchdown. Beachum will also be a special teams threat at the next level.

"Vince Beachum is a true cover cornerback." Said Paul Parpet, head coach at Addison Trail.

"Vince is a stud. He's as good a prospect as I've sent to the D-1 ranks and he's every bit as good a cornerback as Brian Taylor was and I sent him to Stanford."

Having the chance to see Beachum play last year, I can definitely say he looks the part. We asked Vince if he's had any contact from D-1 football programs.

"Iowa and Purdue are recruiting me the hardest right now." Beachum told the Boiler Sports Report.

"Ohio State, Iowa, Illinois, Purdue, Colorado and Wisconsin are my favorites right now. I don't have any offers. I don't know if I'm going to do any camps this summer."

Vince Beachum was named all-area as a junior by the Daily Herald. He carries a 2.8 GPA in the classroom and he scored 22 on his ACT.
