Green Opening Eyes in Chicago

Melrose Park (Ill.) Walther Lutheran running back Daniel Green looked very good at a recent combine that was held in the Chicago. The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder, definitely looks the part and he didn't drop one football all night long which could raise his stock in the eyes of college football coaches.

"I thought I performed extremely well during the combine," Daniel Green said.

"It was good to get out here and show that I do have good hands and I can be a threat out of the backfield catching the football. I did pretty well today. I did some good things that I hoped got noticed.

"Being able to catch the ball could get me more looks for recruiting. My high school coach says he's going to put me in the slot a lot more this year and college coaches have also told me that I'd be a good fit for them as a slot receiver."

Green talked about his scholarship offers and which schools are at the top of his wish list in May.

"Cincinnati and Air Force have both offered me a scholarship," said Green.

"Illinois, Wyoming, Air Force and a few other schools have called me. Cincinnati, Air Force, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Illinois, Vanderbilt and Purdue are my favorites."

Green told us that he'd like to play in the SEC and Auburn would be his top school in the conference.

What does Daniel Green have planned for the summer?

"I've already been to a few combines and I plan on camping at Northern (Illinois), Vanderbilt and Auburn." Green said.

Green rushed for 1,300 yards as a junior and scored 18 touchdowns.
