Indy RB Focused on Season

Indianapolis (Ind.) Franklin Central running back Darius Willis (6-0, 200) is one of the top prospects at his position in the Midwest. The four-star prospect is getting ready for his senior season but before he does, he talks recruiting and gives us the 411 on schools, favorites and a leader.

"My focus right now has turned to my senior season." Darius Willis said. "I have four scholarship offers. Indiana, Purdue, Kentucky and Illinois, I don't have a leader. All four of my scholarship offers are No. 1 right now.

"I've been to Purdue and Indiana on unofficial visits. My plan right now is to take my official visits either later this season or after the season and I'll make my commitment sometime in January."

Franklin Central coach Lance Scheib says the winner of the Darius Willis sweepstakes will be extremely happy.

"Darius is an incredible young man," Coach Scheib said. "He's a better person than a football player and that's saying a lot because we're talking about a football player that's absolutely electric.

"Darius is the real deal and in my opinion he's the type of back that could play for any school in the country, he's that good. Darius averaged 200 yards a game last year. I've never been around a talent like Darius Willis.

"We've had our fair share of D-1 prospects here at Franklin Central, including Donald Washington (Ohio State) and Willis could be the best we've ever had. I'm going to be anxious to see how much better Darius gets once he gets coached up at the collegiate level."

Willis is solid in the classroom carrying a 3.2 GPA and scoring 1100 on his SAT.
