Needs a Big Senior Season

Lake Forest (Ill.) coach Chuck Spagnoli has to be smiling from ear-to-ear these days. Coach Spagnoli has a handful of D-1 prospects in the 2008 class and what follows in 2009 could be even better. One of the top prospects in the Scouts 2008 class is wide receiver/ tight end, Kevin Finney.

"I don't have any scholarship offers yet but I'm hearing from a lot of schools," said the 6-foot-7, 210-pound, Finney.

"A lot of coaches have been sending hand-written letters and I've received a ton of e-mails. We've played a few games now and I think a lot of schools are requesting senior film on me.

"My favorites right now are Michigan State, Miami (Ohio), Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Iowa State. I visited all these schools during the summer and even hit more schools.

"I don't have any leaders or anything like that. There's not one certain school that I'm looking to get an offer from. I want to play college football and I'm willing to listen to everyone right now."

Finney started his high school career at quarterback for Lake Forest. He moved to wide receiver as a sophomore and had his break-out game as a junior with three touchdowns against rival Libertyville.

Finney was named all-area and all-conference as a junior. He was named as one of the top prospects to watch this season by the Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune.

Finney is solid in the classroom carrying a 3.5 GPA in the classroom and scoring 25 on his ACT.
