Sprayberry Having Big Season

Chad Sprayberry, a 6-foot-3, 228-pound, linebacker, from Oak Forest (Ill.) is one of the top defensive prospects in the Land of Lincoln. Sprayberry has a couple of scholarship offers and he's receiving mail and phone calls from several other schools including most in the Big Ten.

"I was offered by Air Force in June and Army just offered recently." Chad Sprayberry told the Boiler Sports Report.

"I'm getting calls on a weekly basis from Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa, Indiana and Illinois State.

"I have a great relationship with Michigan State coach Dan Roushar. Coach Roushar and I talk all the time and he's just a straight-up, honest Guy.

Same goes for Coach (Mark) Hagen at Purdue. I've been to Purdue, Michigan State and Iowa on unofficial visits for games this year."

Which schools are at the top of Sprayberry's wish list?

"The two schools that offered me of course, Army and Air Force," Sprayberry said.

"Illinois, Michigan State, Indiana, Iowa and Purdue are the schools that I like the most right now.

"I don't have any official visits set up yet. Hopefully more offers are going to come my way and I'll get some official visits set up after the season.

"We (Oak Forest) made it to the semi-finals last year and we're 6-1 this year and I'm having a pretty good season, so everything should take care of itself."

Sprayberry has 70 tackles, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for a touchdown through six games in 2007.
