Texas Athlete Talks Purdue

Purdue has lost their last two football games but there still standing strong with a lot of high school football prospects including Tyler (Texas) Chappel Hill athlete Chris Mass. Mass has a couple of scholarship offers including one from the Boilermakers. The Boiler Sports Report caught up with Mass for a recruiting update.

"Yes sir, Purdue is at the top of my list right now." Chris Mass told the Boiler Sports Report.

"Purdue has offered me a scholarship and so has Stephen F. Austin.

"There are a lot of schools contacting me right now. Phone calls, letters, all of that stuff but I only have two scholarship offers.

"I don't have any official visits set up right now. I'm looking at Purdue, SMU, TCU, Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and LSU as my favorites."

Mass is a quarterback on the high school level but he's being recruited by most schools as an athlete.

"Purdue is recruiting me as a wide receiver and that's the position that I prefer to play in college." Mass said.

Mass became a starter for Chappel Hill as a sophomore. Chris led his team to the state play-offs where they were beaten by the eventual state champion.

Chappel Hill is off to a 4-2 start this season and Mass is starting at quarterback and safety. So far in 2007, Mass has thrown five touchdown passes and he has a couple of pics on the defensive side of the ball. Mass also letters in basketball.

Extra Point - Mass would probably have more offers but he's not yet qualified and he'll be re-taking his ACT test later this month. Look for more offers to come his way once he does become a qualifier. Purdue should get an official visit.
