More Offers Coming for Stewart?

FOX Sports NEXT found out that Cy Woods running back Sam Stewart could be in to get a few more offers even before the start of spring football, which will be taking place sooner rather than later.

It seems like it has been well over a year since Houston (TX) Cy Woods running back Samuel Stewart pulled in his first couple of offers from Mississippi State and Texas Tech.

Going into his junior year he was poised to pull in a few more after getting noticed early in the process by more than a couple colleges. But after missing a good portion of his junior year due to injury, Stewart is eager to get back on the field and show what he can do.

He already showed that he is back to full health at the US Army Combine in San Antonio, TX. Now spring football will be his next opportunity. Perhaps even before the pads get laced up, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound Stewart may have a few more programs looking to offer.

"I have been talking to Indiana a lot. And the coaches are talking about offering me," Stewart said. "I have been talking to Houston as well."

Though the dates were not revealed at press time, Stewart said that UH and Rice would be getting a visit from him this off season. In addition to the schools mentioned, Iowa State is another program that may also come through with an offer as well.

Most programs are recruiting him to play the running back position. He said that his ability to catch is one of the reasons college coaches like him because they can "periodically use me as a slot receiver" based on his skills set.
