This is what his early, early Fab Five list looks like today…
"I'd have to say that right now my top schools are Iowa, Missouri, Louisville, Wisconsin and Arkansas," Edwards told OwlDigest.com. "But that's subject to change."
Thoughts on his Fab Five:
On the Hawkeyes: "I love their coaching staff. I just like Coach Curt Prince – he's a very nice dude. And I talk to him every day. And I talk to the Db coach and the DL coach a bunch. Really, I just talk to their whole coaching staff."
On the Tigers: "I love their campus. And I loved my visit there. Right off the bat I felt like I was already part of the team.'
On the Cardinals: "They're showing me lots of love right now. And I talk to Louisville head coach) Steve Kragthorpe and the running back coach on the internet everyday."
On the Badgers: "Coach Kerry Cooks and I have a great relationship. They tell me what kind of great asset I could be to their defense and this is a defense that ranked No. 7 in passing defense last year. So…"
On the Razorbacks: "I love their tradition and the coach recruiting me. James Shibest is a funny dude. And he keeps me informed of what's going on. And they have a great football team."
Thoughts on Rice and North Texas, two in-state schools that have also officially offered:
On the Owls: "They do have a chance still. One of my teammates from last year goes there – Chris Jones – and I believe he's starting there already or second-string. So I think if I went there I could play early and make an impact early there too. Rice actually has two of my former teammates when you count Roddy Maginot who just committed there. So I am still looking at Rice."
Editor's note: Jones started his first game against Baylor last weekend.
On the Mean Green: "They won the Sun Belt conference a couple of years ago. And now that they have Coach Todd Dodge and his son Riley Dodge to play QB in the future, I just like the way things are looking there. And they still have a great shot because they just signed a great quarterback and wide receiver, plus my mom is an alumnus from North Texas," Edwards continued. "Yeah, she graduated there. So they're definitely up there with the other schools on my list."
JR Season Stats: "57 tackles, 3 INTs, 10 PBUs."
JR Season Stats (as a KR/PR): "I averaged about 18 yards on kickoffs and 12 yards per punt return."
Track-And-Field: "4x100 and 4x200."
Weight Room Numbers: "245 Bench, 210 Incline, 200 Power Clean and 375 Squat."
Academics: "3.3 GPA and I am scheduled to retake the ACT in September. I took it once and did not do as good as I wanted. So I expect to do better this next time around."
