Jammer Makes A Pick

BREAKING NEWS: Owls Add talented CB to 2008 Class...

The Rice Owls have been looking for a few good men in their 2008 class. At the top of the wish list has been adding 2-3 cornerbacks. They also wanted to add size at that position. The Owls did both Friday night when Sweeny,TX cornerback Chris Jammer called Rice coaches to cast his lot with the good guys.

Jammer is a 6-1 182 defensive back who clocks 4.45 in the forty. He was a UNANIMOUS 1st Team 24-3A selection on both offense and defense this year. He had 20 catches for 221 yards in the 2007 season with 2 touchdowns. He also scored a touchdown running the ball. He added 2nd Team THSCA Academic All State honors this past season as well.

He joins Jarrett Ben in what has already become a very talented group of cornerbacks. The Owls aren't done yet though, they would love to add Royce Hill from Cy-Ridge before all is said and done. The Owls are very high on Royce and remain in the hunt for his services. Hill is working out details to schedule an official visit to Rice.

Jammer had been recruited by several schools and also held an offer from UTEP. If genealogy means anything Jammer ought to be a good one - he has two cousins playing in the NFL: Johnnie Lee Higgins of the Oakland Raiders and Quentin Jammer of the San Diego Chargers.
