Recruit Wrap: How RU Commits/Targets Fared rolls out another new feature, the "Recruit Wrap," a quick-read look at how some of Rutgers' top targets as well as committed players fared on the high school gridiron during the weekend games. This week's "Wrap" goes from upstate New York to south Florida, and makes plenty of stops in betweeen.

Welcome to the "Recruit Wrap," a feature that will appear on each Monday during the high school season. It will be a mix of players already committed to Rutgers as well as updates on players who are being recruited by the Scarlet Knights. Running back Chevelle Buie rushed for two scores (35, 75 yards) and added a 78-yard TD reception as Cocoa (Fla.) High won at Abeline (Texas) High 24-21 to move to 3-0.

Quarterback Mike Bimonte went 13 of 26 for 163 yards as Manalapan (Englishtown, N.J.) lost to Jackson (N.J.) Memorial 15-8.

Linebacker Quentin Gause scored on a 15-yard run and also returned a fumble 70 yards but Bishop Kearney (Rochester, N.Y.) lost to Notre Dame (Ontario) 38-12.

Cumberland Valley High (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) linebacker Kevin Snyder rushed 18 times for 61 yards and caught two passes for 21 yards in a 30-0 win against Central York (Pa.). Snyder has 154 yards on 29 carries in two games.

Running back Charles Davis carried six times for 67 yards and two scores (10, 27 yards) and also returned a kickoff 95 yards for a score as Neptune (N.J.) High beat Bishop Ahr (Edison, N.J.) 62-0.

Running back Ben Martin carried 20 times for 134 yards and a touchdown (41 yards) as Absegami High (Absecon, N.J.) beat Egg Harbor Township (N.J.) 17-13.

Tight end Tyler Kroft of Downingtown East (Exton, Pa.) made four catches for 108 yards and two scores in a 49-10 win against Norristown (Pa.) High.

Being recruited by Rutgers
Rutgers was in attendance as Park Vista High (Lake Worth, Fla.) running back Tre Mason ran 13 times for 101 yards in a 33-0 win against John I. Leonard High.

Quarterback Miles Shuler ran for 175 yards and three scores and completed 12 of 17 for 194 yards and two scores as Long Branch (N.J.) High beat Colts Neck (N.J.) High.

Running back Savon Huggins scored on a 58-yard run on St. Peter's Prep's (Jersey City, N.J.) first play of the season in a 35-7 win against St. Joseph's (Philadelphia). Huggins finished with 168 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries.

Tanner McEvoy made his quarterbacking debut in Bergen Catholic's (Oradell, N.J.) 22-21 win against La Salle. He was 9 of 17 for 124 yards and three scores and ran 18 times for 72 yards.

Montclair (N.J.) High receiver Aamad Bush had five catches for 71 yards and scored twice in a 27-22 win against Union City (N.J.) High.

Class of 2012 receiver Leonte Carroo, who holds a Rutgers verbal offer, made seven catches for 87 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown, as Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) beat The Gilman School (Baltimore) 33-6.

Class of 2012 running back Aubrey Lewis made his Montclair High debut with a nine carries and 45 yards in a 27-22 win against Union City High.

Class of 2012 running back Drew Harris, who holds a Rutgers verbal offer, ran for 175 yards and four scores on 30 carries as Downingtown East (Exton, Pa.) beat Norristown (Pa.) High 49-10.
