Fuller Discusses Rutgers Offer

Rutgers assistant coach Ed Pinkham was in attendance as Northern Valley (Old Tappan, N.J.) athlete Devin Fuller accounted for more than 450 yards of offense and six touchdowns last week against Paramus (N.J.) High. It didn't take long after that for Rutgers to verbally offer the class of 2012 sensation, telling him Wednesday he had a verbal offer.

All it took was 247 yards passing, 218 yards rushing, six combined touchdowns, a two-point conversion, five tackles and an interception for Northern Valley (Old Tappan, N.J.) athlete Devin Fuller to pick up his first offer.

According to Fuller, he received a verbal offer from Rutgers after calling the staff to speak to them Wednesday afternoon.

"It's great," Fuller said. "I wasn't really shocked because I know I'm good enough to play Division I football, but it's my first offer so I was excited for it to happen."

The 6-foot, 185-pound Fuller plays quarterback and defensive back for Northern Valley, and is being recruited by the Scarlet Knights to play in the secondary.

Fuller received his offer on the heels of a stellar performance in a 50-31 defeat of Paramus (N.J.) last weekend with Scarlet Knights assistant coach Ed Pinkham in attendance.

The next time he will see the Rutgers coaching staff is Saturday, when he will be attending the Scarlet Knights' home contest against North Carolina.

"I don't think I view it any different, but I'm thinking I'll be thanking all the coaches when I go there," said Fuller, who camped at Rutgers in June. "I know as much (about Rutgers) as the McCourty's (Jason and Devin) junior year. I saw that run against Louisville when (Rutgers) was in the top 10, so I followed them from that point on."

In two games this season Fuller he is 17 of 26 for 395 yards and three scores, and rushed 24 times for 463 yards and seven scores. He also has nine tackles and an interception.
