It also gave him a desire to play in such an atmosphere.
"I did see a good game, and I got to talk to a couple of the coaches," Hutton said. "I would like to play in something like that. That definitely has a big part in where I want to go, and what the atmosphere is like. That would definitely be a big factor in it."
Hutton, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound cornerback, holds offers from Temple, James Madison and Massachusetts, and he has been getting strong interest from the Scarlet Knights since a stellar performance at Rutgers camp.
"They're pretty intense," Hutton said. "The receivers coach (P.J. Fleck) is really on me. He wants me to be there, and the same with a couple of other coaches, and my recruiting coordinator. The just have to show coach (Greg) Schiano my tape. He's been asking about it, and from there, we'll see."
Hutton is yet to send the first part of his senior highlight film to Rutgers, but he has plenty of cuts to send there.
Paul VI is off to a 4-0 start, and Hutton has 19 tackles and three interceptions. He also has nine catches for 200 yards and two scores.
"(Rutgers) is just talking to me a lot and saying I could be a real asset to the team, but right now it's going to be all on my senior tape," Hutton said. "It's all going to be on my senior tape. A couple of the coaches there want me to play certain positions."
Rutgers is recruiting Hutton to play cornerback, but he added he doesn't care whether he plays offense or defense.
"I just would really like to play," Hutton said. "I like both sides of the ball. It doesn't matter to me. Any chance I get, I'll go 100 percent."
