Recruit Wrap: How RU Commits/Targets Fared

ScarletReport.com's "Recruit Wrap" is a quick-read look at how some of Rutgers' top targets as well as committed players fared on the high school gridiron during the weekend games. This week's "Wrap" goes from upstate New York to south Florida, and makes plenty of stops in betweeen.

Welcome to the "Recruit Wrap," a ScarletReport.com feature that appears Monday during the high school season. It will be a mix of players already committed to Rutgers as well as updates on players who are being recruited by the Scarlet Knights. It is designed to give readers a potpourri of information on how recruits are faring on a weekly basis.

Committed to Rutgers
Cocoa (Fla.) High running back Chevelle Buie ran 14 times for 64 yards, had a 59-yard TD catch, and returned two punts for 19 yards in a in a 24-7 win against Space Coast.

Cumberland Valley High (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) linebacker ran nine times for 70 yards and a TD, caught a 24-yard TD pass and made eight tackles in a 35-6 win against Central Dauphin.

Manalapan High (Englishtown, N.J.) quarterback Mike Bimonte completed 8 of 14 for 196 yards and two TDs in a 40-8 win against Old Bridge.

Bound Brook (N.J.) High linebacker/running back Andrew Campolattano carried five times for 34 yards, including a 3-yard TD, in a 20-0 win against South Hunterdon.

Neptune (N.J.) High running back Charles Davis rushed 20 times for 109 yards, including a 59-yard TD in the third quarter, of a 21-19 win against Monmouth.

Downingtown East High (Exton, Pa.) tight end Tyler Kroft caught two passes for 60 yards, including a 56-yard TD, in a 35-8 win against Bishop Shanahan.

Absegami High (Absecon, N.J.) running back Ben Martin scored on a 13-yard run in a 33-21 loss to Millville.

St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) running back Savon Huggins (Rutgers offer) carried 11 times for 201 yards and five TDs (35, 1, 35, 11, 29) in the first half of a 56-0 win against Bayonne.

St. Peter's Prep safety Sheldon Royster (Rutgers offer) had a tackle, a quarterback pressure and scored on a 5-yard run against Bayonne.

Bergen Catholic High (Oradell, N.J.) quarterback Tanner McEvoy (Rutgers offer) was 9 of 17 for 132 yards and two TDs (60, 10), and ran 16 times for 137 yards, including a 74-yard TD run, in 27-13 win over St. Joseph Regional.

Long Branch (N.J.) High athlete Miles Shuler (Rutgers offer) scored a TD in a 33-7 loss to Freehold Boro.

Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.) running back Kevin Monangai ran for 292 yards and three TDs (15, 13, 74) on 21 carries in a 37-2 win against Irvington.

Downingtown East High (Exton, Pa.) running back Drew Harris (Rutgers offer) ran 29 times for 246 yards and three TDs (85, 32, 1) against Cental Dauphin.

Sayreville High (Parlin, N.J.) receiver Delon Stephenson carried 15 times for 84 yards and a TD (16), scored on a two-point conversion and also had a 31-yard TD catch in 41-14 defeat of Woodbridge.

Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) receiver Leonte Caroo (Rutgers offer) Holy Spirit High (Absecon, N.J.) running back Nigel Jones ran 11 times for 155 yards and a TD (45) in a 42-0 win over Mainland.

Timber Creek Regional High (Erial, N.J.) linebacker Quanzell Lambert (Rutgers offer) made 11 tackles, had a sack and blocked two extra points in 32-25 win against Woodrow Wilson.

William Floyd High (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) running back Stacey Bedell ran 14 times for 37 yards, caught two passes for 18 yards and made 11 tackles in a 40-6 loss to Sachem North.

Archbishop Wood High (Warminster, Pa.) running back Desmon Peoples (Rutgers offer) ran seven times for 154 yards and a TD in a 49-0 win against Archbishop Carroll.
