PF Jack Divulges Plans

Four-star power forward confirmed a report earlier this week by that he left South Kent (Conn.) School, and he called to lay out his plans for the coming months. Jack talked about enrolling at a prep school close to the Rutgers campus, and what his plans are for signing with Rutgers and then playing for the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers commit and four-star power forward Kadeem Jack will enroll at Central Jersey Each One Teach One (Somerset) on Thursday and enroll at Rutgers in January.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Jack left South Kent (Conn.) School after being there for two months. His plan is to begin practicing with the Scarlet Knights in January, but red-shirt. He will have four years of eligibility remaining when the 2011-12 season begins.

"They told me I can do everything with the team, but just red-shirting," Jack sad. "This will give me a big upper hand on a lot of freshman coming in.

"I think going to prep school, while not as long as I had planned, gave me a lot of information that will help me going into Rutgers and it's going to put me in a better position to maybe lead the team next year, especially with so many guys coming in. Maybe we can do bigger things next year."

Jack said he left South Kent because he was academically eligible and didn't want to spend a year at the school. CJEOTO, which is located a few miles from campus on Hamilton Street, promotes itself as "A High School Post-graduate Basketball Program."

CJEOTO plays a full schedule of games, and Jack said he will be on the court Monday when it plays Brewster Academy.

"I wanted to give an opportunity to bring in another player, so I left and I'm transferring to CJEOTO and will go to Rutgers in January," he said. "I'll play about 20 games while I'm there and then go to Rutgers."

Jack, one of the marquee members of the coach Mike Rice's seven-member recruiting class, will sign his binding national letter of intent next Wednesday.

"I'm kind of excited about the recruiting class coming in," Jack said. "I know a lot of people weren't expecting us to get some of the key guys we got. We got Myles (Mack), me, Jerome Seagears, Malick Kone, Derrick Randall, Greg Lewis (and Michael Taylor). All of us are coming in there with a chip on our shoulder because people want to know why we are going to Rutgers.

"We wanted to be part of something new. We have a great recruiting class. This is probably the best recruiting class Rutgers has had since …I don't know, maybe ever."
