Royster Down To Two

There is a development in the recruitment of three-star safety Sheldon Royster of St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.). He was scheduled to make a visit to North Carolina this weekend and also had South Carolina and Rutgers on his list. However, one of those schools was eliminated. Which one? Come inside and find out, and also learn when Royster could make a decision.

St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) safety Sheldon Royster canceled his official visit to North Carolina and will decide between Rutgers and South Carolina, Marauders coach Rich Hansen told ScarletReport.com.

Royster was set to visit Chapel Hill, N.C., this weekend, but decided not to.

"He's going to decide between South Carolina and Rutgers," Hansen said. "We're just going to meet and talk about the schools. He's not going to go to Carolina."

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Royster is the only safety Rutgers is recruiting. He made his official visit to Rutgers in December, and made his trip to South in late October.

Despite internet chatter saying Royster would announce his decision Monday, Hansen added there was no such date given for an announcement.

"That was when Sheldon was going to decide, but I don't know if he'll make an announcement then," Hansen said. "It was Monday because we're going to sit down and have a conversation and see if we had a decision, but I don't know if there will be an announcement."
