And during his 48-hour window of being on campus, there are a few things he will be concentrating on heavily.
"I'm looking more to sit down with the running backs coach (Chris Hewitt), to sit down with the offensive coordinator (Frank Cignetti)," Huggins said. "I've talked to coach (Greg) Schiano so many times, been there so many times. On official visits, you sit down with the academic advisors and all that, I've done all that before on my unofficial visits there.
"So, (the visit) is more sitting down with the coaches and hearing exactly what they want me to do, have clips set up for me. I've done everything. I've toured the campus, I know what everything looks like."
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound, Huggins knows Cignetti's offensive principles because he recruited Huggins while at Pittsburgh the last two years.
In an interview with ScarletReport.com earlier this month, Huggins said, "He coached some of the best players (at Cal and Fresno State )…Even when he got up to the school (at St. Peter's), he had a whole plan set up for me when he was at Pitt. I really liked that about him."
Another point of interest for Huggins is how he meshes with the current collection of Scarlet Knights.
Part of the official visit weekend includes hanging out with the current players Friday night, and a trip to Times Square with some players, coaches and parents on Saturday night. There is also more social activity with the players and recruits Saturday.
"I'm looking forward to being around the players more and see what they have to say," Huggins said. "That's going to be a big part of the decision where I choose, what the players have to say about the school."
"It was good. I enjoyed the visit," Huggins said. "The running backs coach (Brad Salem), he's a very good coach. They're in the process of getting an offensive coordinator, so that was something that needs to get settled."
Huggins is getting recruited extremely hard, especially by Rutgers, Notre Dame and North Carolina.
However, he is constantly reminded of the Scarlet Knights because of his location, and his friendships. His teammate is Rutgers commit Keith Lumpkin, and a close friend is Rutgers commit Miles Shuler of Long Branch (N.J.) High.
Also, when Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) quarterback Gary Nova committed to Rutgers last week, he hit Huggins with a text telling him to join the Scarlet Knights' class. "He said, ‘Hey, let me know,' "Huggins said. "I hit him back on text."
It won't take long after Huggins' last visit to make a decision. He will make his announcement Friday, Jan. 28, at St. Peter's Prep.
"I'm not sure of the specific time, but it will be at the school," Huggins said. "I think it's going to be in the afternoon."
