Canevari Makes Pick

Rutgers picked up a non-binding oral commitment from Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J) running back Paul Canevari. He made the late-night decision after returning home from his official visit to Rutgers.

Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) running back Paul Canevari returned from his official visit to Rutgers and saie he would wait a few days before committing.

He decided to get it over with sooner, and gave Scarlet Knights coach Greg Schiano a non-binding oral commitment.

Canevari will sign with the Scarlet Knights during Wednesday's national letter of intent signing day.

Canevari was offered last week by Schiano as a greyshirt, meaning he would enter school in January 2012. "They said if anything opens up, I could come in during the summer," Canevari said. "They said they might have a scholarship (for the fall)."

The 6-foot, 220-pound Canevari rushed for 1,500 yards and 27 touchdowns as a senior.
