The Scarlet Knights play 10 of their 12 games on Saturdays, open the Big East calendar Oct. 1 at Syracuse, and will not play on championship Saturday for the first time in four years.
The season begins Thursday, Sept. 1, against FCS foe UNC-Central at Rutgers Stadium at 7:30 p.m. before the Scarlet Knights travel to North Carolina for a Sept. 10 contest.
The only bye on the schedule comes Sept. 17, and after that Rutgers plays 10 straight weeks.
Big East play begins Oct. 1 at Syracuse, and the home portion of the conference season starts Nov. 8 against Pittsburgh.
The Scarlet Knights jump out of conference for an Oct. 15 game against Navy, which is the likely homecoming game, before a short turnaround for the lone Friday game, a trip to Louisville Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. on ESPN. That is also the only scheduled ESPN game, but each of the conference games can be picked up by the ESPN family of networks.
