DeMatha Catholic High (Hyattsville, Md.) is loaded again with Division I prospects again the 2012 class, and one of the players with strong interest in Rutgers is linebacker Sam Lebbie.

Lebbie, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound outside linebacker, was offered by the Scarlet Knights in January and continues to build a strong relationship with coach Greg Schiano and receivers coach P.J. Fleck, who is Lebbie's primary recruiter.

"I'm going to Rutgers on April 30 for the spring game," Lebbie said. "I want to see game action. They gave me a list of dates (to visit) and I want to go up and see them play. I want to see what kind of environment I'll be playing in on Saturdays."

Lebbie holds offers from Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

"I'm about to get a sixth (offer)," Lebbie said. "Michigan said they would offer soon. I talk to Florida a little bit and North Carolina State. I haven't been talking to a lot of coaches lately because I've been busy."

However, one of the schools Lebbie is in constant communication with is Rutgers.

"I talked to them every day or get messages from them every day," Lebbie said. "I'm in close contact with coach Fleck, I talk to the linebackers coach (Bob Fraser) every now and then, and I talk to the head coach every time I talk to coach Fleck."

The conversations with Schiano doesn't center on football, but on daily happenings in Lebbie's life.

"He tells me he can't wait until I get up there and that I need to keep in touch," Lebbie said. "We talk about what workouts I'm doing, how I'm doing in school, and how they would love for me to come up there."

However, Lebbie isn't ready to begin cutting his list of suitors, or begin formulating a list of possible leaders.

"Everybody is still the same," he said. "It's early. I'm sure it will change. I haven't thought about (a timetable), but when I know where I want to go, I'll make that decision."
