Barnegat High TE Morris Visiting Rutgers

Barnegat (N.J.) High tight end Ryan Morris has a busy spring schedule, and one of the schools he will check out is home-state school Rutgers. The 6-foot-5, 237-pound Morris will be on campus this weekend for a practice and meet with the coaching staff. Morris holds six offers, and is looking for one from the Scarlet Knights. Check out what he had to say about his recruitment.

Rutgers is in the market for a tight end in the 2012 class, and one of its yet-to-be-offered targets is Barnegat (N.J.) High's Ryan Morris, who will get a close look at the program Saturday.

It will be the second extended look the 6-foot-5, 237-pound Morris gets of the school, which he visited for junior day in January.

"Rutgers was a great day," he said. "We toured all their facilities and their campus. We learned about their program, academics, and everything like that."

Morris is being recruited by Scarlet Knights assistant Robb Smith, and the two are in regular contact.

"I watched Rutgers growing up," Morris said. "Being from New Jersey, that's pretty much the only team you have to watch, so you grow up and like Rutgers."

Other schools are also taking notice of Morris, who made 30 catches for 494 yards and four touchdowns as a junior.

He holds offers from Indiana, Louisville, Purdue, Syracuse, Tulane and UCF. He is also hearing from North Carolina and Maryland, and will spend spring break later this month in the midwest visiting Purdue, Louisville, Indiana and Cincinnati.

Morris also has been to Maryland, where he took in a junior day.

"We visited with coaches, toured their facilities, got to see a basketball game and we went all around their campus and saw all the different fields," he said. "I thought it was beautiful down there."

However, Morris has no favorites, and doesn't have a preference of location or campus style.

"At this point, I'm interested in anyone that is interested in me," Morris said. "The only thing that really matters to me is a good program with coaches that I have a good relationship with, and they have to have good academics as well."
