Four-star OL Taylor Looking at Five Schools

Archbishop Wood High (Warminster, Pa.) four-star offensive lineman Frank Taylor holds nine offers, but he is focusing on five schools. Taylor talked to about those schools, and why they are the ones he is concentrating on. He also talked about where Rutgers stands in his recruitment, and the vibe he is getting from the Scarlet Knights' coaching staff.

Archbishop Wood High (Warminster, Pa.) offensive lineman Frank Taylor's been to Rutgers once, but the four-star's interaction with the Scarlet Knights' coaching staff has him feeling very good about the program.

In fact, Taylor told he is focusing on five programs, and Rutgers is in the group.

"My interest level is very high in Rutgers," Taylor said. "They've been showing me a lot of love, it's a great school and it's very close to home.

"Right now I'm looking at Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Villanova and Michigan State. Those are the teams that have offered me that are (of) real high (interest) that I'm looking at."

The relationship Taylor is forging with the coaching staff is a driving force in having the Scarlet Knights rated high.

"It's a great staff," he said. "They've been known for having a great football program, and they think I can fit well into their program."

Taylor's lone visit to Rutgers came in mid January when he visited the Scarlet Knights campus on junior day, but another trip is being scheduled.

"I'm trying to make it back up there for a spring practice, or the spring game," Taylor said. That's something still in the making. I haven't set an exact date yet."

Taylor plays tackle for Archbishop Wood, but the 6-foot-3, 286-pounder knows a move inside will come when he gets to college.

There are questions whether he will play guard or center, but he doesn't mind either way.

"I haven't played center before, but with my height and weight I can make an easy transition," Taylor said. "I'd say my style is ground-and-pound. I'd say I'm a good pass blocker as well. A heavy run team that also throws is pretty much my system."

Taylor holds nine offers, including eight from FBS teams.

However, Villanova is also in his top five, and he was asked if a Wildcats' move from FCS to FBS would be part of his decision-making process.

"I'd say that is somewhat of a factor," he said. "But the academics down there are excellent, and I feel that is a place I can play early, and fit into the system."
