Agudosi Selects Rutgers

SOMERSET, N.J. -- Franklin High receiver Carlton Agudosi became the fourth member of Rutgers' 2012 recruiting class when he announced today he committed to Rutgers. The 6-foot-6, 205-pound Agudosi was offered by the Scarlet Knights earlier this week.

SOMERSET, N.J. -- Carlton Agudosi's rise as one of the top receivers in New Jersey led Rutgers to offer him a scholarship this week, and it didn't take long for the 6-foot-6, 205-pound Franklin High standout to make a decision.

Agudosi, who committed to Rutgers coach Greg Schiano earlier this week, announced his intentions during a ceremony moments ago at his school. Rutgers was his only offer.

The commitment came after Agudosi took a pair of unofficial visits to Rutgers last week, and also excelled at Sunday's Nike camp inside Rutgers Stadium.

"I think he brings some uniqueness," Franklin High coach Lou Solomon said. "At 6-6, he can go down field, he's good in the short box. I think he brings some explosiveness. For a kid that's 6-6, he's got pretty good athleticism and he's a very tenacious competitor."

Agudosi is the fourth commitment to the 2012 class, and joins Linden (N.J.) High's Ruhann Peele as the second receiver to commit to the Scarlet Knights.

He also represents the big-bodied target Rutgers is moving toward in the pro-style offense. He made 42 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.
