Why did you choose Rutgers?

"It was everything I wanted. I looked at academics, location. The coaching staff was just incredible and I want to be a part of it when they turn it around. There was no reason not to commit."

On the coaching staff

"Every single one of them I got along with. It was like a family. They really look out for you. It seemed that they had their priorities straight in terms of looking after student athletes."

Who else had offered you?

"It was just Rutgers but Connecticut, Syracuse, Virginia and Boston College were in contact me with me daily.'

Will you still be taking visits?

"No. I'll just take my official to Rutgers."


One of the state's top linebacker prospects, he finished his junior season with 73 tackles, seven sacks, 13 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. He was an All-Conference and All-State pick. Mike is known for his athleticism. He has a 35 inch vertical leap, 4.05 shuttle. Mike is a is a full qualifier with a 3.6 GPA and a 1030 SAT score.


"I feel coach Schiano is doing a great thing at Rutgers. He is going to turn it around. I want to be a part of it when he does. I also wanted to be the first person to commit verbally to the State of Rutgers. I feel it will help bring in more recruits and I took it as an honor to do so. "
