Spotlight 2013: TE Adam Breneman

ScarletReport.com concludes its spotlight on the Class of 2013 with tight end Adam Breneman from Cedar Cliff High School (Camp Hill, Pa.). Breneman is poised to be a top national recruit at his position and went in-depth on his interest in the Rutgers program.

Rutgers got in early with tight end Adam Breneman and that contact with one of the top 2013 recruits will be key as his recruitment picks up.

Boston College offered the Cedar Cliff High (Camp Hill, Pa.) rising junior first and Rutgers was right behind. Breneman now has eight verbal offers including ones from Alabama and Notre Dame.

Because of the attention, Breneman is in the midst of visits to many schools in contact.

He has already been to Alabama and Notre Dame and plans to camp at Penn State hoping for a ninth offer. He may also attend a few one-day camps in July if he can, he said.

"It's awesome to not even be a junior and already have all of these options," said the 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end. "I've been to some camps and want to go to a lot more to prove I'm worth it. I want to show I deserve this attention."

Breneman has a good relationship with Rutgers, he said. He visited for a spring practice in April and plans to return for either a training camp practice or game this year.

"I thought that went well, but I didn't see everything I wanted to see," he said. "I'm looking to come back for a practice during their training camp. I'll definitely come up for a game."

Breneman is poised to be one of the top tight end recruits on the national level for the Class of 2013 and Rutgers is in good position.

"Rutgers, to this day, may be recruiting me the hardest," he said. "I have a great relationship with [tight ends coach Brian Angelicho]. I will have a strong interest in Rutgers no matter what.

"We have a great relationship. He's awesome to talk to. He's really energetic and honest about their program. They want to get a strong program back on the winning track."

In addition to Angelicho, who recruits his area and would be his position coach, Breneman said he is friendly with incoming linebacker Kevin Snyder. He also said he knows of incoming tight end Tyler Kroft and Class of 2012 commits Blake Rankin and Desmon Peoples.

"We play good football out here in Pennsylvania," Breneman said. "Rutgers is getting some good talent."
