OT Muller Has New Leader After Rutgers Visit

Three-star offensive lineman Chris Muller spend much of the last 24 hours at Rutgers for an unofficial visit. Upon his return home, he told ScarletReport.com about how the visit affected his leaderboard, Penn State recruiting and a decision date. Come inside for the details.

Boyertown Area Senior High (Boyertown, Pa.) offensive lineman Chris Muller named Rutgers his top choice after taking another unofficial visit to campus yesterday and today.

Muller did everything from spend time with the coaches to watch players work out, but said the time he spent with the team stood out above all else.

"It really was a great visit," Muller said. "I connected with the players. They're all cool. I've been to Rutgers before, but I finally met the players this time. They're cool, blue-collar guys."

Between watching workouts and hanging out with the team, he said he "got a great impression on what Rutgers is about."

"I clicked the most with Desmond Wynn," Muller said. "He's cool and down to earth."

Muller is familiar with Rutgers from multiple visits this year, but said he enjoyed this trip more than any other.

"It was relaxed, but I learned a lot," he said. "I enjoyed driving around and checking out the campus and checking out the weight room. I talked with the coaches again."

In late May, Muller told Scout.com that Penn State was his leader with South Carolina and Rutgers behind that. But after a series of Midwest trips and another visit to Piscataway, Rutgers is in the lead.

"Rutgers is my top," Muller said. "It's the vibe I get from the coaches and getting to meet the players. The Rutgers coaches are my favorites to deal with. They're down to earth guys. They're nice people."

When asked about rumors circulated around Penn State pressuring him for a commitment, Muller said he was not entirely clear on the message from the Nittany Lions, but that he still very much likes the school.

"I don't really know, but I'm not one to be pressured," Muller said.

Muller thinks he will be ready to make a decision "by the end of next week."

The decision will be made in a public announcement, he said, and ScarletReport.com will be on hand.
