Rutgers senior wide receiver Aaron Martin (Ringwood, NJ) has signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
" I'm very excited to have this opportunity. They called me during the draft to tell me that they were interested in me, said Martin. I feel really excited and really blessed. Once youre able to get your foot in the door, everything else is up to you. All you need is the opportunity.

The NFL must have seen something from the Rutgers football team this season.
Aaron Martin became the fourth Scarlet Knight in as many days to become a member of an NFL team yesterday, as the senior wide receiver signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys. He follows tight end L.J. Smith, linebacker Gary Brackett, and offensive lineman Trohn Carswell as the most recent Rutgers player to a sign a professional contract. Punter Mike Barr was also invited to the Washington Redskins mini-camp as a non-contracted player.
Martin, latest player to sign professional deal
Athletics Director Bob Mulcahy is considering replacing the Rutgers Stadium sod with FieldTurf, the latest technology in synthetic grass that has been installed at a dozen NFL venues or training facilities, including Giants Stadium, and at nearly two dozen Division I-A schools.
"We are reviewing what to do," Mulcahy said yesterday of the project, which would cost approximately $750,000. "All I can tell you is no purchase order has been signed, and we are having a presentation from somebody else (today)."

Sue Wicks, the first draft pick in the New York Liberty's history, announced her retirement from the WNBA on Tuesday. The 36-year-old Wicks averaged 2.2 rebounds and 3.4 rebounds last season, her sixth in the league. For her career, she averaged 4.5 points and 4.3 rebounds.
