Davon Jacobs became the eight member of the Rutgers recruiting Class of 2012 today when he made his verbal commitment.
The DePaul Catholic (Wayne, N.J.) defensive back took multiple visits to campus in June, including one Saturday for the 7-on-7 Schiano Shootout and chose Rutgers out of 14 verbal offers.
At the 7-on-7, Jacobs said that Rutgers was a favorite because of a strong relationship with defensive backs coach Jeff Hafley.
"I love Coach Hafley," Jacobs said Saturday. "He is the best of any college coach I deal with. I feel very comfortable with him and with all of the Rutgers coaches. I feel very comfortable at Rutgers."
