The Week That Was's "The Week That Was" feature is designed to give readers a quick-read format to catch up on the major happenings from the last seven days. This is installment includes two commitments, two decision dates and two cut lists.

In an effort to make the site even more user-friendly, provides a week in review.

So much happens here in a week's time, it's possible to miss some of the happenings and news.

To make it easier, each Monday "The Week That Was" will be posted to give an update on what transpired.

On the Gridiron
  • Hundreds of athletes gathered in Piscataway this week for Rutgers' annual summer camp. Commits, recruiting targets and prospects were on-campus and received first-hand coaching from the Rutgers staff. For the first time, new hires Frank Cignetti, Jeff Hafley and Brian Angelicho coached at Rutgers camp.

  • Rutgers picked up two major commitments this week with back-to-back verbals from defensive lineman Julian Pinnix-Odrick and cornerback Davon Jacobs. Pinnix-Odrick and Jacobs each took multiple visits to campus today and were recruited most heavily by assistant coach Jeff Hafley.

  • Archbishop Wood (Warminster, Pa.) center Brandon Arcidiacono set an announcement date of tomorrow at 3 p.m. will be on-hand for the announcement where he is expected to decide between Rutgers, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Temple.

  • St. Peters Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) tight end Michael Giacone has an announcement date of July 15 planned. Giacone visited Rutgers this week and does not have any other visits planned before deciding between his top four of Rutgers, Connecticut, Boston College and Maryland.

  • Don Bosco (Ramsey, N.J.) linebacker Mike Strizak set a top three of Rutgers, Connecticut and Boston college and would like to decide in August or September. Strizak and five-star defensive end Darius Hamilton told that there is a strong possibility that the two of them and wide receiver Leonte Carroo announce together.

  • Multiple 2013 verbal scholarship offers went out during Rutgers camp including Stone Bridge (Ashburn, Va.) quarterback Ryan Burns, West Philadelphia Catholic (Philadelphia) running back David Williams and Eastern (Vorhees, N.J.) cornerback Eli Woodard.

  • Rutgers commits Blake Rankin and Carlton Agudosi camped at Rutgers this week and both said they learned a lot from working with the coaching staff. Ruhann Peele did not camp and does not plan on any camps or combines so he can focus on his schoolwork.

On the Hardwood
  • The Jersey Shore Basketball League continues through July with the Rutgers contingent — The Gutter Cleaners — still seeking a first win. Eight Rutgers players are in action and shoot for their first win Wednesday night.
