Last season's record: 4-8
Returning starters: 17
Key losses: S Joe Lefeged, QB Tom Savage (transfer), DE Alex Silvestro
Key returnees: QB Chas Dodd, WR Mohamed Sanu, DT Scott Vallone
Best game: Nov. 26, AT Connecticut
Projected finish: 8-4, Pinstripe Bowl
Outlook: Picked last in the Big East preseason media poll, Rutgers has a lot to prove and that starts in training camp. The Big East will come down to quarterback experience and execution on defense this season. Chas Dodd has loads of talent at the skill positions at his disposal and coach Greg Schiano will prove that 4-8 last season was an aberration and not a sign of bad things to come.
