On the Recruiting Trail

Keyport's excellent  wide receiver, JJ Bedle had impressive showings at both the Athlete's Edge camp and at the Penn State Nike Camp. It paid off. JJ just gained himself an offer from the Syracuse Orangemen. Plainfield's offensive lineman Rob Crudup and and defensive lineman Dan Davis impressed at the recent Rex Plex combine. Nebraska is seriously considering an offer to Davis who was offered early by the Scarlet Knights.

Keep an eye out for ...

Strangely enough Patterson Catholic's Victor Cruz is still without an offer. Cruz is a super fast corner who has now grown to 6-1, 180,  but the lack of exposure to the various combines has slowed down his recruiting.

Haven't heard the name James Boyd? You will. The super tough linebacker out of Monroe Township might be one of the top recruited players in the state before the year is out even though right now no one is even mentioning his name.

Another player who hasn't made the combine circuit is Patterson Catholic linebacker, Chenry Lewis. The lack of exposure hasn't hurt Chenry. In addition to offers from Rutgers and Boston College, the Miami Hurricanes have assigned linebacker coach Vernon Hargreaves to recruit Lewis. Lewis is another player who will be nationally recruited once the summer camp circuit starts.

I told you so

In my last "On the Recruiting Trail" in early April I pegged Immaculata linebacker Mike Ziarnowski and and J.P. Stevens linebacker Anthony Miller as two kids with a good chance to verbal early.

Ahem ...

Both verballed to RU about two weeks after that article.
