Tony Tate, a 5-11 point guard at Globe Tech (NY), has signed with Florida A&M for the 2003-04 aeason. He transferred to Globe from Pittsburgh, where he redshirted during his freshman year.
Tate was among the nation's JUCO
leaders this season, scoring 22.2 points per game with 8.4 assists. He broke the
single-season assist record at Globe while leading the Knights to a 15-4
A native of Jersey City (NJ), Tate starred as a schoolboy at St.
Anthony's in Jersey City and Marist in Bayonne before receiving his diploma from
St. Patrick's in Elizabeth.
