Central Florida defensive line coach Jim Panagos is expected to be the final addition to Kyle Flood's staff of assistants at Rutgers, sources said. Panagos has been with the UCF program since 2007 and originally hails from New York.

Kyle Flood is expected to hire UCF defensive line coach Jim Panagos to the same position at Rutgers, sources said.

Special teams coordinator Phil Galiano is expected to help with the development of defensive backs in addition to his play-calling duties, leaving Panagos in charge of the defensive line that added Darius Hamilton and Julian Pinnix-Odrick on National Signing Day.

Panagos has been at UCF since 2007 and coached against Rutgers in the St. Petersburg Bowl Presented by Beef 'O Brady's in 2009.

Prior to his time with UCF, which joins the Big East in 2013, Panagaos coached as an assistant with the Minnesota Vikings. Panagos also brings stronger ties to multiple Rutgers recruiting areas.

He played college football at Maryland, where he holds the record for most blocked kicks in a season. Before coming to Maryland, Panagos attended East Islip High School on Long Island and grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y.
